My NUDA Spray Tan Experience

Hi all,

Over the weekend I had an exciting opportunity to meet with NUDA Canada to test out their products, and have them spray tan me!

Here’s a little bit about them before I detail my session:

Who is NUDA?

NUDA was launched 1 year ago in Quebec City by its two owners: Mahay and Genevieve. They offer quality spray tanning products and training tools to beauticians and spray tan artists to use on their clients – and especially to those looking to start their own spray tanning business.

NUDA has trained over 100 spray tan artists in Quebec alone and recently they have expanded to now offer their products throughout Canada and the USA!

Tanning Products

NUDA’s solutions are all 100% vegan and cruelty free. They are water-based, gluten free, paraben free and nut-oil free, therefore allowing anybody to achieve the tan of their dreams. The ingredients are all naturally sourced to create a flawless, natural glow while keeping your skin healthy! Enriched with vitamins A, C and E, Aloe Vera, white tea and green tea extracts, their solutions prevent streaking, stickiness, and irritation while working to benefit your skin.

Colour Range

NUDA offers three shades that can be used alone or mixed together to create the perfect, customized glow.

Latte: The lightest shade geared towards those who are naturally fair-skinned, and tend not to tan well. Gives the skin a golden glow!

Moka: For those with fair to medium skin tones. Develops into a caramel-coloured tan.

Espresso: Intended for those with medium to dark skin tones and those who can tan easily. The result? Cocoa-toned complexion!

The Process

When I arrived Mahay and Genevieve were extremely inviting. There was champagne and cupcakes waiting that I definitely delved into following my tan!

I got into a strapless bikini and Mahay covered my nails, knuckles, knees and elbows in barrier cream so that the solution didn’t build up in those dry areas (DHA tends to stick to dry skin and develop darker).

I then put a hair cap on and stepped into this booth for the spraying to begin! Genevieve carefully sprayed on the solution – I did Moka – and dried it as she went. The whole process took about 2 minutes and then I let it air dry for 5 minutes before changing back into my clothes.

Following the spray tan, the colour takes 8 to 12 hours to develop. The immediate results are just cosmetic bronzers that will wash off later on in the shower.

In order to prolong your tan, you’ll want to moisturize a ton and keep soaking in baths, using oil based products and exfoliating to a minimum!

The tan will last about 10 days and then you can use their special NUDA exfoliating glove to scrub off any leftover bronzer and prep yourself for your next glow 🙂
